Product Description 3M Hookit Disc Pad securely holds a 3M Hookit sanding or finishing disc or 3M Finesse-it buffing pad for use with a hand-held sanding tool such as a rotary, orbital, or random orbital sander. The 45 degree tapered edge provides flexibility and allows the sanded area to be feather-edged or more easily blended. From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Hookit™ Disc Pad 07394 is constructed of 1" thick foam with a long tapered edge and securely holds a 7" (178mm) diameter hook-and-loop sanding or finishing disc for use with a hand-held rotary sander. The long tapered edge is more flexible than a 45 degree tapered edge for blending applications where more flexibility is needed, and helps produce professional results when feather-edging. The pad is made with a resilient backing plate assembly and medium density foam for durability. It fits a sander with M14-2.0 external threads, typically sold in Europe. Max RPM is 6,000. The Hookit hook-and-loop feature makes disc attachment, removal, and re-attachment easy and facilitates use and re-use of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit disc pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit disc pads grip the brushed nylon loop backings of 3M Hookit Discs and provide a finer finish than do adhesive backed discs. The Hookit system is designed for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris.
